Teaching, advising excellence nominations sought 5 p.m., Feb. 11, 2005--The deadline for UD students, alumni and employees to nominate a faculty member or teaching assistant for UDs Excellence in Teaching and Undergraduate Advising Awards is Tuesday, March 1. Each year, the University selects a limited number of The teaching award is given to a full-time UD faculty member or a currently enrolled graduate student who has full responsibility for teaching a course or laboratory section. The nominee may teach either undergraduate, graduate students or both and must not have won the award in the last 10 years. The teaching honor includes a $5,000 award for faculty recipients and their portraits hang in Morris Library for five years. Teaching assistants receive $1,000. The advising award is for full-time faculty members who advise undergraduate students in some capacity and includes a $2,500 award and a brick inscribed with the recipient's name is placed in Mentor's Circle.
