Hillel online auction offers a variety of choices

2:31 p.m., Feb. 28, 2005--Bidding continues through April 4 in the Kristol Hillel Center at UD online auction for vacation packages to Europe and Hawaii, rare record albums, furniture, certificates for fine dining, sports memorabilia and many other items.

Hillel will be adding new items throughout the auction. Soon to be offered, an autographed photo of baseball great Willie Mays' famous catch in the 1954 World Series, an original copy of The Beatles' 1964 number one hit “She Loves You,” a customized European vacation and sports memorabilia, including a photo of Smarty Jones taken at the Kentucky Derby and signed by jockey Stewart Elliott valued at $500, a signed 16-by-20 inch photograph of Celtics legends Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish, professionally framed in Celtics’ colors, valued at $1,300.

Proceeds from the auction support Hillel in bringing students opportunities for spirituality, social action, education and fun in a Jewish context through Friday night dinners, Jewish comedians, semi-formals, celebration of the high holy days, Passover meals, Holocaust awareness, trips to Israel, Washington and leadership conferences, scholars-in-residence and one-on-one conversations over coffee.
