Performance appraisal process under way 5 p.m., Feb. 9, 2005--Annual performance appraisals for UD faculty and staff must be completed by April. For the faculty, appraisal and workload planning forms are required to be submitted to college deans by Friday, April 1. Deans are expected to identify units that have not completed the process and provide an explanation for noncompliance to the Office of the Provost by Friday, April 8. The faculty appraisal and planning form is available at [www.udel.edu/EmployeeTraining/appraisal/facapwrd.html]. This year, the Office of Information Technologies is in the process of converting the appraisal form to an online format. An experimental version is available to interested faculty and department chairs. Individuals interested in using the online form can contact John Courtright, director, Office of Undergraduate Studies, at [johnc@udel.edu]. Staff appraisals For professionals and salaried staff, all requisite forms must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources on or before Friday, April 29. Training sessions will be held in February to familiarize supervisors and employees with the performance evaluation process. To register for a workshop send e-mail to [EmployeeTraining@udel.edu], and include your name, title, department, campus phone number and the training session you would like to attend. The first session is designed to enhance the evaluation skills of supervisors as well as provide an overview of the performance appraisal process. Supervisory workshops will be held from 10 a.m. -noon, Tuesday, Feb. 22, and from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24. The second session acquaints employees with the major elements of the annual performance appraisal system. Participants will review the steps involved in identifying their major responsibilities and in completing the self-appraisal worksheet. Workshops are scheduled for 11 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, Feb. 23, and from 9-10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25.
