UD grads finalists for Hole-y Matrimony
The couple became contestants in Dunkin Donuts Hole-y Matrimony contest when Brobst submitted an essay describing how he proposed to Yotko on a bench near Westminster Abbey during a summer trip to London. The United Kingdom vacation was a chance for the couple to celebrate Yotkos graduation in May with a bachelors degree in photography. Brobst graduated in May 2003, with a bachelors degree in biology. My fiance wrote an essay about our engagement and entered it in the contest, Yotko said. They must have liked it because they called us back and now we are one of three finalists in the running. Yotko and Brobst, who live in New Castle, are among three finalist couples in the Philadelphia area. Three couples also are finalists in the New York region. Similar prizes will be awarded to the winners in each of the two regions. When we first entered the contest, and even when we became semi-finalists, I thought the whole thing was hilarious, Brobst said. When we became finalists, I thought, Oh God, now I have to take this thing seriously. Prizes include an all-expenses-paid wedding up to $15,000 to take place at a Dunkin Donuts store within the applicable region, plus a six-day, seven-night honeymoon trip to the Bahamas and $3,000 cash to be put toward taxes or their prizes. Total average retail value is estimated at around $20,500. It feels fabulous to be a finalist, Yotko said. We are trying to get everyone to vote for us, and we are incredibly appreciative of any help we can get. Voting for the winners in each region continues through Friday, Jan. 14.
