2005 summer camps information available online
Academic camps offer participants in grades 3-12 myriad activities and adventures, including attending college classes while living on the UDs Newark campus and the always-popular aerospace camp for the next generation of space explorers. Other camps range from self-paced math and reading programs to theatre and learning about the environment. Sports camps at UD for girls and boys 7-18 include basic and advanced sports skills training in both competitive and noncompetitive learning situations. Sports include baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, field hockey and swimming. Music camps at UD offer students from pre-toddler to pre-college opportunities to develop musical skills, while engendering an appreciation for all types of music. Instruction also is provided on all types of instruments. A wide variety of musical styles are represented, ranging from jazz and classical to choral and middle-school band. Other camps for children 4-18 include 4-H camps in New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties, as well as programs that focus on health and environmental issues. Additions include the First State Childrens Theatre Radio Days Theatre Camp and six camps hosted by UDs Early Learning Center, including: Explore Your World, The World of Brains and Brawn, Discover A New World, Its A World of Make-Believe, Color Your World and Another World View.
