Washington, Malcom CAA Players of Week 9:46 a.m., Jan. 18, 2005--Two University of Delaware basketball players, junior guard Rulon Washington of the men’s team and senior forward Tiara Malcom of the women’s team, have been named Colonial Athletic Association Players of the Week. It is the fourth straight week Malcom has been honored and the second straight week a member of the men’s team has been cited. Recognition for Washington follows an award given to teammate Harding Nana last week. Washington scored 14 points and hit the game-winning three-point basket in UD’s 81-78 overtime win over George Mason University on Jan. 12 and then scored 20 points in Saturday's 75-40 victory over James Madison University. The UD men’s team, which has won three straight games, will host defending conference champion Virginia Commonwealth University at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center. Malcom scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds in a 56-40 victory over the University of North Carolina Wilmington on Friday and 17 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 72-56 victory over George Mason University on Sunday.
