East-West Shrine Game invites Haugabrook

3:25 p.m., Dec. 22, 2004--University of Delaware senior cornerback Sidney Haugabrook, a consensus All-American, has been invited to play in the 80th annual East-West Shrine Game on Saturday, Jan. 15, at SBC Park in San Francisco.

The all-star game, which benefits the Shriners Hospitals for Children, features the top senior college football players in the nation.

Haugabrook becomes the first UD player to participate in the East-West Shrine Game and the first to take compete in a college postseason all-star game since offensive tackle Jim Stull played in the Blue-Gray All-Star Game in 1999.

Haugabrook, who will play for the East, is one of 10 NCAA Division I-AA players in the game and one of two from the Atlantic 10 Football Conference. Also on the East squad is linebacker Liam Ezekiel of Northeastern University.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens co-captain was the second four-time All-Atlantic 10 selection in UD history, and was named first team American Football Coaches Association All-American, first team Walter Camp Foundation All-American, second team Associated Press All-American and second team Sports Network All-American.
