4 UD football players on ECAC All-East team

2:34 p.m., Dec. 22, 2004--Four University of Delaware football players have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-East team for NCAA Division I-AA. Honored as first team selections were senior offensive tackle Trip DelCampo, senior defensive lineman Chris Mooney, junior defensive lineman Tom Parks and senior middle linebacker Mondoe Davis.

UD last placed four players on the ECAC first team in 2000.

DelCampo, a two-time All-Atlantic 10 Conference selection, started all 29 games at tackle during the last two seasons, including the 2003 national championship season. He was an important part of a Fightin’ Blue Hens offense that averaged 380 yards and 26.5 points per game this season.

Mooney, a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, earlier was named a third team All-American by the Sports Network. This season he had 42 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss and 6.5 quarterback sacks.

Parks, an All-Atlantic 10 selection, earlier was named a third team All-American by both the Sports Network and the Associated Press. He led all UD linemen in tackles with 48, including 15.5 tackles for loss and had 10 sacks.

Davis, a three-year starter and two-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, led UD in tackles for the second straight season with 123. He also had 7.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions.

A total of 37 players from ECAC member schools were named to the team. Lang Campbell, quarterback from the College of William and Mary, was named the ECAC Player of the Year, and Ricky Santos, quarterback from the University of New Hampshire, was named the Rookie of the Year.
