Vita Nova booked through December

1:28 p.m., Nov. 25, 2003--Vita Nova, UD’s student-run gourmet restaurant, is totally booked for both lunch and dinner through the end of the year.

Peter Hakansson, one of the restaurant’s two professional managers, said the restaurant has been sold out since Nov. 1, and some patrons are e-mailing reservation requests for 2004.

Hakansson said business has been brisk all semester long, but patrons are surprised when schedulers tell them that there are no reservations to be had for the remainder of the year. He said some patrons already have e-mailed him at [phakan@udel.edu] to request reservations for February, when Vita Nova will reopen after Winter Session.

Vita Nova charges $10.95 for a lunch buffet that includes soup, salad, entrees, desserts and a soft drink or hot beverage. Dinner prices are in the $24 to $30 range without drinks. The food is prepared and served by students from the University’s Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management.
