Founded in 1958, the University of Delaware Library Associates works to expand and enrich the research collections of the University of Delaware Library through gifts from individual members, funds raised by the programs and donations of significant books of the Library Associates.

Each year contributions of the University of Delaware Library Associates assist financially with the acquisition of rare library materials, sponsor an exhibition opening reception and an exhibition publication to promote Special Collections, support a June lecture program in the Morris Library featuring the research of a University of Delaware faculty member, and sponsor an annual dinner that includes a presentation by an author of regional or national acclaim. Members also receive a semiannual Newsletter of the University of Delaware Library Associates, exhibition catalogs and a journal called Collections, which is published on an occasional basis.

The University of Delaware Library Associates’ annual dinner will be held April 27, at which John Berendt, award-winning author of “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil: A Savannah Story” will speak and sign his book.

New members are actively solicited for membership in the University of Delaware Library Associates.
