CEO of PNC opens Chaplin Tyler lecture series

11:21 a.m., Sept. 26, 2003--Connie Bond Stuart, president and CEO of PNC Bank, Delaware, a member of one of the nation’s largest diversified financial services organizations, will be the first speaker in the fall Chaplin Tyler Executive Leadership Lecture Series at 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, in the Chaplin Tyler Atrium of Alfred Lerner Hall. The lecture series is presented by UD’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics.

Stuart’s talk is entitled, “Building a More Powerful PNC: The Right Businesses, the Right Strategies, the Right People ”

A 23-year veteran of PNC, Delaware, the state’s second largest, full-service bank, Stuart is a native of southern Indiana, where her family has a long history in farming and banking. She earned an MBA in finance and accounting and a bachelor of science in marketing and advertising from Indiana University School of Business.

Stuart began her PNC career as a corporate banking relationship manager in Pittsburgh. In 1987, she was chosen to establish the Washington, D.C., office of PNC Real Estate Finance. During her tenure there, she built the business and distinguished PNC as a major financial services provider for regional commercial real estate developers. She spent 15 years in that post, advancing to senior vice president in 1997.

Each Tyler lecture is followed by questions from the audience. Those planning to attend are asked to reserve a seat by calling 831-2221, by Sept. 30.
