Special ‘Title Town’ discounts available at Dining Services

11:51 p.m., Feb. 10, 2004--Newark has declared itself “Title Town” in honor of the football championships won by UD and Newark High School, and UD Dining Services and downtown Newark merchants are offering special Title Town discounts on goods and services to celebrate.

Last fall, Herlocher Foods Inc. of State College, Pa., introduced a Fightin’ Blue Hen salsa and dipping mustard. The mustard is featured in a line of specialty sandwiches at Dining Services. The sandwiches and other Dining Services food specials are now available at the following locations:

  • Perkins Student Center—Purchase a Herlocher’s specialty sandwich and receive a free 16.9 ounce bottle of Blue Hen Water.
  • Trabant University Center—One topping BENE pizzas are half price on-site or delivered. Purchase a Herlocher’s specialty sandwich and receive a free 16.9 ounce bottle of Blue Hen Water.
  • Round House, Smitty’s, Euro Bistro, Carpenter Sports Building and General Services Building snack bars—Purchase a Herlocher’s specialty sandwich and receive a free 16.9 ounce bottle of Blue Hen Water.
  • Concessions at the Bob Carpenter Center—Purchase a hot dog and medium Coke for $3.
  • Campus Markets—Purchase a case of Blue Hen Water (24 16.9-ounce bottles) for $16.
  • Blue & Gold Club—Members get $1 off on special Title Town Friday and Saturday dinner entrees. Membership information is available at the club.

Also look for “Title Town” posters in windows on Main Street for more than 60 merchants offering special discounts in celebration of the football championships.
