Alumni offered discount to sultry summer performance

11:35 a.m., June 25, 2004--UD alumni now have even more reason to visit Ardentown’s New Candlelight Dinner Theatre this summer. During the run of “Pippin,” which continues through Sunday, Aug. 29, alumni will receive a 10-percent discount on admission to the dinner-and-show combo, courtesy of producer Robert Miller, BS ’65, MBA ’71.

A parable about coming of age in Charlemagne’s Holy Roman Empire, the play, which debuted on Broadway in 1972, remains a fast-paced favorite featuring high-energy dancing and music.

The production at the New Candlelight Dinner Theatre showcases the talents of local dancers, actors and actresses and highlights the work of choreographer and theatre coproducer Jody Anderson Miller.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, doors open at 1 p.m. and the show begins at 3 p.m.

The New Candlelight Dinner Theatre is located at 2208 Millers Road in Ardentown. Admission, which includes a buffet meal, is $40 for adults and $25 for children (except Saturday). Reservations are highly recommended. For information, call (302) 475-2313 or visit [www.newcandlelighttheatre.com].
