‘Detour from Stress’ fair set Nov. 12

7:32 a.m., Oct. 29, 2003--UD’s Employee Wellness Center will host “Detour From Stress: A Stress Fair,” from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, in rooms 209 and 211 of Trabant University Center. Employees who want to learn how to lower stress levels are encouraged to stop by to participate in this interactive event.

Stress experts will be there to help employees learn more and test various stress-management techniques, including yoga, chair massage, guided imagery, fitness stretches and progressive relaxation. Information about out how diet and humor can relieve stress also will be available.

Four special guest presentations are scheduled:

  • 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Five-minute chair massage with Maryann Ouly, licensed massage therapist
  • 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m., Yoga stretches and relaxation with Neil Meisel, Awareness Center, Newark
  • Noon-1 p.m., Guided imagery sessions with Charles Beale, UD Counseling Center
  • 11:30 a.m.- 2 p.m., Stress-relieving products, Newark Natural Foods

    All those who attend will receive a free “Detour From Stress” pack. In addition, the following prizes will be given away at random:

  • $10 gift certificate to Newark Natural Foods
  • $10 gift certificate to Main Street Florist
  • $10 gift certificate to Newark Car Wash

    The first 25 individuals who register will receive a free Wellness Center T-shirt. The registration fee is 10 Wellness dollars. For more information or to register, visit [www.udel.edu/wellness], or call 831-8388.
