Blue Hen men's soccer plays to fifth tie of season

10:39 a.m., Oct. 16, 2003--The University of Delaware men's soccer team played to its fifth tie of the season, a 0-0 double overtime draw against the U.S. Naval Academy in a game played Wednesday in Annapolis, Md.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens moved to 3-6-5 with the third double overtime tie in as many games. UD has amassed five draws this year, topping the previous record of four set in 1962 and matched in 2002. The three consecutive ties also is a first.

Junior goalkeeper and co-captain Kyle Haynes registered his fourth shutout of the season and the 11th of his career, stopping seven shots against Navy.

UD will return to action in a Colonial Athletic Association match at Towson University at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19.
