Delaware soccer's Haney named CAA Rookie of Week

11:40 a.m., Oct. 14, 2003--University of Delaware freshman soccer player Matt Haney has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.

Haney took a pass from goalkeeper Kyle Haynes and scored with just 53 seconds remaining in regulation, enabling the Fightin’ Blue Hens to tie James Madison University 1-1 on Sunday.

It was the third goal of the season for Haney, who tops the Blue Hens with seven points and is tied for the team lead with three goals.
