Precisionaires win bronze in synchronized skating championships
The Precisionaires skated in the collegiate division against 17 other teams. The groups theme was survival in the jungle, using the music from the hit television reality show Survivor. The winning routine included an ambush, becoming one with nature and getting caught in a storm. Last year, The Precisionaires came in seventh in this competition. Coaches Megan O'Donnell and Wendy Deppe said they expected to finish better than seventh, but the team exceeded their expectations. "We've worked so hard this year pushing the envelope artistically, and it really paid off. Our goal was to improve upon last year's seventh place finish; so, to be on the podium was incredible. Their performance was unforgettable, " Deppe said. Also at the competition were two other synchronized skating teams that train at the University. The Delaware Diamonds finished seventh and the Diamondaires finished ninth in the masters and adult divisions, respectively, Article by Barbara Garrison To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
