Newark Police investigate robbery of UD student

6:40 p.m., Oct. 21, 2003--Newark Police are investigating the armed robbery of a UD student that occurred around 8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 20, in a parking lot on Duke Street at School Lane Apartments.

A thin man in his 20s approached the student who had just gotten out of his car, pointed a handgun at him and took his wallet, which contained an unknown amount of cash. The suspect then ran between toward Library Avenue. The man is described as having a goatee and wearing jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, a red brimmed baseball cap and white sneakers.

The student was not injured.
