The award for the Outstanding Residence Hall Program, long program, went to UD’s Multicultural Leadership Retreat, run by the Office of Residence Life Professional Staff Diversity Committee.

The facilitators and participants in Ray Street’s Unity Project program entitled “Why Do You Hate France?” won for Outstanding Residence Hall Program, short program. They include resident assistants Kristin Gridley, Quentin Speight, Christopher Greb, Davita Mumford, Colin McCloskey, Melanie Mitchell, Susanna Wingard, Kathleen Curtin and Kaes Delgrego; hall directors Brett Matulis and Kristen Moeltner; complex coordinator Michael Diesner; and Ralph Begleiter, Rosenberg Professor of Communication and Distinguished Journalist, who assisted with the program.

The Outstanding Undergraduate Student Staff award went to Brett Matulis, hall director for the Ray Street Complex. He was recognized for his selflessness, his ability to reach students, his outstanding leadership of his staff and his assistance with special interest housing.

Michael Diesner, complex coordinator for Ray Street, received the award for Outstanding New Professional. He was recognized for revitalizing Special Interest Housing in a short period of time. For his work with student groups, for working to bring a conference to UD, for his technological skills and for working with students.

Carol Koli, staff assistant, is the first recipient of the new Excellence in Service Award. The award goes to a person, neither a student nor a professional staff member, who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to the housing profession and the campus.
