A number of UD Cooperative Extension professionals were honored in January at a conference in Lewes: Lighthouse Perpetual Award—Mark Manno, educator for 4-H; Director’s Spirit Awards—Pat Tanner Nelson, specialist for family and child development, Carl Davis, agriculture agent for New Castle County, Douglas Crouse, 4-H youth development for Kent County, and Tracy Wooten, horticulture educator for Sussex County; Team Award—Atlantic Crop Management School Planning Team including Richard Taylor, agronomy specialist, Joanne Whalen integrated pest management specialist, Gordon Johnson, agriculture agent for Kent county, Greg Binford, specialist for water quality and soil scientist, and Marty Spellman, integrated pest management research associate; Outstanding Program Award—Extension Nutrient Management Program for livestock producers; Distinguished Service Award—Roxane Whittaker, Kent County educator for family and consumer studies; and Mid-Career Service Award—Carl Davis.

Michael S. Podmaniczky, adjunct associate professor of art conservation, was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Furniture Society through 2005.
