Student ambassadors thanked at presidential reception

Student ambassadors (from left) Julia Gruber, Chris Howey, Heather Roettger and Isis Johnson enjoy a picnic at the house of President and Mrs. David Roselle.
11:59 a.m., May 18, 2004--President and Mrs. David Roselle welcomed student representatives Monday evening, May 17. Ag Ambassadors, Blue Hen ambassadors and Multicultural Recruitment Assistants gathered at the president’s house for an end-of-the-year picnic.

The circa-1921 mansion was, predictably, filled with laughter and conversation at the gathering of students whose job descriptions include adjectives such as friendly, tactful, outgoing and comfortable talking with all kinds of people.

Multicultural Recruitment Assistants lead tours and promote the University to prospective minority students and their families. They also coordinate overnight visitations and community outreach programs.

Ag Ambassadors, all majors from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, assist with recruitment events at high schools and on campus and contact prospective and admitted students. They also assist with Ag Day and other public events.

Blue Hen Ambassadors are the students in the Blue Hen shirts and fleece who conduct campus tours, promote the University to prospective students and their families and answer e-mails sent to the admissions office.
