MBNA Career Services Center unveils web site for parents
11:55 a.m., Aug. 28, 2003--The MBNA Career Services Center at the University of Delaware has developed a new web site especially for parentsidentifying how parents can help their sons or daughters be aware of the experiences that will help in preparing for a career and also providing ways that parents can help other UD students.
Visit the site at [http://www.udel.edu/CSC/parent.html].
The Career Success Plan describes the various UD activities and experiences that can be used to explore careers and prepare for the job search. Detailed on the site are the many services and resources available for all majors at all levelsfreshman, sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students, too.
Parentsand alumni, toocan make a positive difference in the lives of UD students as they prepare to enter a challenging job market. Finding a job is a difficult task for all students, and the transition from school to work brings many exciting changes. Staff at Career Services are seeking parents and alumni to actively participate in helping new graduates prepare for and enter the job market.
Both parents and alumni can lend a hand by serving as a host in the Day On The Job program; participating on a career panel; or listing internships, part-time, summer and full-time jobs available at their place of employment. This is a win-win relationship students gain from the experience, while the organization gains by engaging well-prepared UD graduates.
Web-based forms for each program are available at [www.udel.edu/csc/parenthelp.html]. Just fill out the appropriate form, press submit and the information is entered into an online database accessed by thousands of UD students.
For further information about any of these programs, send e-mail to [udcareers@udel.edu].
