Latin percussionist featured at March 15 concert

3:05 p.m., March 12, 2004--The Percussion/Marimba Ensembles and Delaware Steel, under the direction of Harvey Price, assistant professor of music, featuring guest artist Rolando Morales-Matos, will perform at 8 p.m., Monday, March 15, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Ticket may be purchased in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices or at the door.

Born in Puerto Rico with a fine arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s degree from Duquesne University, Morales-Matos is a well-known Latin percussionist, whose career has taken him all over the world. He performs and records with various Latin jazz groups in New York, is a member of the Philadelphia Orchestra Percussion Group and is an extra-percussionist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
