PAC nominations due May 28

9:58 a.m., May 26, 2004--UD’s Professional Advisory Council (PAC) is holding elections for representatives from even-numbered districts. The deadline to nominate an individual or self-nominate is Friday, May 28. Those elected will serve for two years starting July 1.

PAC advises the vice president for administration on personnel policies and related issues and provides a forum for profes-sionals to present and discuss concerns.

Those nominated must be aware of the nomination and agree to be nominated.

In order for an individual’s name to appear on the ballot, a biographi-cal sketch of the nominee must be submitted. The sketch will be included on the ballot. It should contain the nominee’s name and office extension, present position and department, name of his or her supervisor, previous positions held at the University and a 50-word or less essay on anything pertinent to representing the district. This information must be submitted to Diane L. Pugh, Office of Human Resources, no later than Friday, May 28.

Ballots, accompanied by biographical data, will be sent to all professionals by mid-June; election results will be announced in late-June.

If only one nomination is received for a position, no formal ballot-ing will take place, and constituents will be notified. The nominee will serve as a district representative for the term.

To accurately reflect its constituency, PAC encourages diversity in its representation of professional employees.
