Hospitality industry leader lectures April 26 3:31 p.m., April 23, 2004--Curtis Nelson, president and chief operating officer of Carlson Companies, will lecture at 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 26, in the Trabant University Center Theatre. A leader in the hospitality industry, Nelson will give firsthand accounts of implementing successful business strategies and will answer questions from students interested in pursuing careers in hotel and restaurant management. Additionally, Nelson will speak about existing opportunities and will meet directly with job-seekers. Nelson is active in several business and philanthropic initiatives in the hospitality industry and is a member of the Travel Business Roundtable and the World Travel Tourism Council. At the 2003 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he was selected as a Global Leader for Tomorrow. Nelson also is a member of UDs HRIM Advisory Board. The talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policys Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management.
