Colman to give Named Professor Lecture
Colman is program director of the Chemistry-Biology Interface Graduate Program. Her area of research is understanding the catalytic activity of proteins in terms of protein structure, including enzymes isocitrate dehydrogenases, glutathione S-transferases and adenylosuccinate lyase. Colman has served on the editorial boards of professional journals, including Protein Expression, Journal of Biological Chemistry and Purification and Protein Science and serves as the executive editor of Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics. She also is a member of the U.S. National Committee for the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and chaired the Division of Biological Chemistry of the American Chemical Society. A graduate of Radcliffe College, she received her doctorate from Radcliffe Graduate School of Harvard University. Colman served on the faculty of Washington University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School before joining the UD faculty in 1973.
