Newark mural fund-raiser set June 27

3:12 p.m., June 3, 2004--A “beer dinner” at 8 p.m., Sunday, June 27, at Caffé Gelato on Main Street will benefit the Downtown Newark Partnership’s CSX Bridge Mural Project.

The fixed-price dinner will feature Pete’s Wicked Ales and Moosehead Beers, along with a set menu featuring Caffé Gelato’s award-winning cuisine.

Ryan German, owner of Caffé Gelato, will donate half the per-person meal price at specially reserved spots at the 8 p.m. seating to support the mural project.

The meal, which is offered for $39.99 per person, not including gratuity, includes the following menu items: prosciutto-stuffed mushrooms, corn and crab chowder, roasted pepper and cucumber salad, pan-seared duck breast with walnut and red onion polenta and baked ricotta cakes with fresh berry sauce. A different selected ale or beer will accompany each menu item, except desert.

Seating is limited, so those interested in attending should make reservations by calling 738-5811. When reserving a spot, be sure to mention the Downtown Newark Partnership’s Mural Project.
