UD men’s soccer defeats Howard on Flanigan goal

10:52 a.m., Sept. 25, 2003--The University of Delaware men’s soccer team defeated Howard University 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Washington, D.C., as junior Adam Flanigan scored in the 85th minute.

In goal, UD junior co-captain Kyle Haynes notched his third shutout of the season and the 10th of his career. He had three saves.

With the victory, Delaware evened its record at 3-3-2. Howard fell to 1-6.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens return to action at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept.28, when they travel to New Rochelle, N.Y., for a match against Iona College. The Gaels are 3-4-2.
