All-Mozart concert set Nov. 9

10 a.m., Nov. 7, 2003--UD’s Department of Music presents Schola Cantorum and the University of Delaware Orchestra in a joint all-Mozart concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. The concert program includes three Mozart compositions—the overture to “The Magic Flute,” “Symphony 31 in D” and “Coronation Mass.”

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices on the UD campus.

Paul D. Head, director of Schola Cantorum, also directs the University Chorale and teaches choral methods, literature and conducting. Before coming to UD, Head served on the faculty at Westminster Choir College.

Brian Stone, director of the University Orchestra, received both his master’s and doctoral degrees in conducting from the Peabody Conservatory. He also studied composition at the Aspen Music Festival where he conducted his own work, “Nesting.”
