'Moliere Than Thou' opens PTTP season Nov. 21

2:05 p.m., Nov. 14, 2003--UD’s Professional Theatre Training Program opens its 2003-04 season at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, in Hartshorn Hall with “Molière Than Thou,” a one-man play created and performed by Timothy Mooney.

In the course of the play, besides resurrecting playwright and actor Jean Molière—the creator of high French comedy—Mooney reinvigorates Renaissance theatre, the court of Louis XIV and the vision that generated some of the most beloved plays of all time. In this PTTP production, Molière speaks English, and is every bit as insightful, ribald, irreverent and hilarious as he was 300 years ago.

Four performances are slated for Hartshorn Theatre:

  • Friday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m.;
  • Saturday, Nov. 22, at 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and
  • Sunday, Nov. 23, at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets prices range from $5-$17. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call (302) 831-2204.
