UD men’s lacrosse falls to Drexel in CAA clash

10:23 a.m., April 19, 2004--The University of Delaware men’s lacrosse team continued its struggles in the Colonial Athletic Association, losing 9-8 to Drexel University on Saturday night at Rullo Stadium.

With the loss, its third straight and all to CAA opponents, the Fightin’ Blue Hens fell to 8-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

UD will play a conference game at Sacred Heart University at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 24, in Fairfield, Conn. The Pioneers are 1-10 overall and 1-3 in the CAA.

Against Drexel, Andy Hipple led the Hens with three goals. Bob Meunier and Joe Trentzsch scored two goals apiece.

Ryan Metzbower had two assists and became just the 25th player in UD history to score more than 100 points in a career.
