Two exhibitions feature work of MFA candidates

“Pennygood,” mixed media sculpture, by Ted Stanke
11:42 a.m., April 28, 2004--Two upcoming exhibits at the University Gallery, sponsored by UD’s Department of Art, will showcase paintings, prints, ceramics and sculpture by 13 MFA and two MA candidates for 2004.

The first exhibition runs Friday, April 30, through Saturday, May 9, and features the work of: Michael Allen, painting; Zach Chupa, sculpture; Suzanne Maxwell, ceramics; Aimee Miller, painting; Benjamin Montague, photography; Paloma Pacheco, ceramics; and Andrew Wapinski, painting.

The second exhibition runs Friday, May 14, through Saturday, May 29, and features the work of: Jon Cox, photography; Daniel Fielder, painting; Natalie Reinert, ceramics; Christopher Rodi, ceramics; Christine Shanks, photography; Kevin Shook, printmaking; Jessica Singerman, painting; and Ted Stanke, sculpture.

A public opening and reception for the first exhibit is set for 4:30-7 p.m., Friday, April 30; a public opening and reception for the second exhibit is set for 4:30-7 p.m., Friday, May 14. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday; and 1-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The gallery is closed Mondays.

Both shows are free and the gallery is handicapped accessible.
