Summit on preventive medicine set March 12

4:52 p.m., March 10, 2004--A summit on employer-sponsored preventive medicine is set for 7:30-11:30 a.m., Friday, March 12, at the Delaware Technical and Community College campus in Stanton.

“Healthy Lifestyles = Healthy Savings” will bring together a panel of nationally renowned medical experts and leaders in the health insurance industry to discuss solutions for businesses to rising health-care costs. The panel will discuss using preventive medicine to lower health care expenses, as well as employer-sponsored wellness programs.

Other topics to be addressed at the summit include lowering health-care spending, reducing the use of health-care benefits, and raising employee productivity and morale.

Summit sponsors include Delaware Gov. Ruth Ann Minner, Cardio-Kinetics, Delaware Tech, Coventry Health Care of Delaware and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.

Breakfast will be provided by BlueCross and BlueShield of Delaware. The cost to attend is $25 for Delaware State Chamber members and $40 for nonmembers. For information or to register for the event, call 576-7221 or visit [www.dscc.com].
