National soccer magazines honor Delaware’s Lewing

9:55 a.m., Oct. 31, 2003--University of Delaware senior defender and tri-captain Ginna Lewing has been named to the Soccer Buzz Magazine Elite Team of the Week and the Soccer America Team of the Week, both of which were announced Monday.

The reigning Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week, Lewing headed the game-winning goal into the net to send the Fightin’ Blue Hens to a 1-0 victory over conference rival James Madison University.

As the team's defensive leader, Lewing helped UD pick up three consecutive shutouts last week, blanking St. Francis College, George Mason University and James Madison.
