Prof lectures on health insurance Feb. 6 in Lewes, Seaford 8:25 a.m., Feb. 3, 2004--Laurence Seidman, Chaplin Tyler Professor of Economics, will discuss the national health insurance crisis in a lecture on Friday, Feb. 6, titled Government Policies Affecting Health Insurance: Which Should be Preserved and Which Replaced? Part of the month-long Land and Sea Lecture Series, Seidmans lecture will be offered at both 10 a.m. at the Virden Center on the Hugh R. Sharp Campus, 700 Pilottown Rd., Lewes; and again at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Rd., Seaford. Seidman teaches courses in macroeconomics and public finance at UD. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelors degree in social studies from Harvard University. Recent publications have included Economics Parables and Policies, Managing a Bulge: Policy Options for Social Security and The USA Tax: A Progressive Consumption Tax. The Land and Sea Lecture Series is a month-long program featuring talks by UD faculty. All the lectures are free and open to the public.
