Careers in libraries meeting set Feb. 19

1:54 p.m., Feb. 18, 2004--“Discover Great Careers in Libraries,” a program that explores the diverse career opportunities open to library professionals, will be held from 4-5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19, in the Class of 1941 Lecture Room of Morris Library. Light refreshments will follow.

Participants will learn how individual interests, such as using the latest information technology, helping others track down information and learning something new every day, can lead to rewarding careers in libraries.

The program also offers an opportunity for participants to meet with professional librarians who specialize in fields ranging from geographic information systems to youth service and privacy rights advocacy, as well as a medical librarian who advocates consumer health services for Delawareans.

The free public event is cosponsored by the MBNA Career Services Center, the University of Delaware Library and the UD Library Assembly of Professional Staff.
