Alrich, Metzbower compete in North-South Classic
Alrich and Metzbower will be members of the South team, which includes players from Johns Hopkins, Virginia, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Villanova, Penn, Georgetown, North Carolina, Towson, Denver, Maryland and Loyola. Alrich and Metzbower capped their senior seasons by leading UD to a 10-6 record and a berth in the Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament. At one point during the season, the Fightin Blue Hens, led by Head Coach Bob Shillinglaw, were ranked as high as No. 11 in the NCAA Division I poll.
Both Alrich and Metzbower scored more than 100 points in their UD careers, Alrich with 83 goals and 20 assists and Metzbower with 75 goals and 26 assists. Metzbower, a four-year standout for the Hens, had 15 goals, two of which were game winners, and six assists this season.
