April 28, 2004--Donna Lou Lawhead, 70, of Middletown, died April 24, at home after a lengthy illness.

She was employed for 10 years in facilities at the University of Delaware, retiring in 1979.

Born in Clearfield, Pa., she was graduated from Clearfield High School and moved to Delaware in 1953. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of American Legion Post #24 of Millsboro.

Ms. Lawhead is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roland W. Lawhead; and Harvey W. Lawhead of Elkton, Md., Deborah Ann of New Castle, Steven Michael Lawhead and Walter Scott Lawhead, both of Newark; brother, Merrill James Hertlein of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
