Hillel Board of Governors expands

Daniel M. Kristol
4:03 p.m., June 22, 2004--The Kristol Center for Jewish Life at the University of Delaware, affiliated with UD’’s Hillel Student Center, has expanded its board of governors to include two members of its namesake family.

Daniel M. Kristol and Howard G. Kristol, both friends of the University who are members of the Delaware Diamonds Society, have accepted an invitation to serve on the board of the center, which is affiliated with the International Hillel Foundation for Jewish Campus Life and ministers to the 1,600 Jewish students on campus.

They join board members Yetta Chaiken, Bennett and Alice Epstein, Pearl Kristol, Scott Mackler, a member of the physical therapy faculty, and Lynn Snyder-Mackler, professor of physical therapy.

Daniel Kristol said his family “is proud to have made the University of Delaware campus a destination for a great number of outstanding Jewish students.’’

Howard G. Kristol
“The students need to know that there are people on campus who can help them find each other and that Jewish life is supported at the University,’’ Kristol said. “It’s natural for members of the Kristol family to continue to support this important investment in Jewish campus life that bears their family name.’’

For more information about the Kristol Center, Hillel, or how to become a member of the board of governors who make a long-term commitment to support the center, contact Susan Detwiler, executive director, at 453-0479, or Mike Samuels, president, at 368-9492.
