Blue Hen helmet mailboxes at UD Bookstore

8 a.m., Jan. 9, 2004--Now there is a colorful way to let your mail carrier and the neighbors know that you are a loyal fan of the Fightin’ Blue Hens.

Football helmet mailboxes with the distinctive markings of the protective headgear worn by the NCAA I-AA National Champion Fightin’ Blue Hens are available now at the UD Bookstore.

The mailboxes feature a background of UD blue streaked with lines of UD gold. These also are found on the Delaware state flag and the flag of Sweden, the country from which the First State’s first colonial settlers came.

The hard plastic mailboxes are 17 inches high by 20 inches wide and 20 inches deep, with a mailbox opening measuring 6.5 inches high and 6.5 inches wide. There is no logo of any kind on the box. Cost is $64.99.
