UD quarterback Hall wins national recognition

11:16 a.m., Nov. 19, 2003--The honors continue to roll in for University of Delaware senior quarterback Andy Hall after Saturday’s riveting 51-45 triple overtime victory over the University of Massachusetts.

Hall, a senior from Cheraw, S.C., earlier was named Atlantic 10 Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week as he completed a UD record 28 passes in 39 attempts for 261 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 63 yards and another score in the win.

Now, Hall also has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the Football Gazette NCAA Division I-AA National Co-Offensive Player of the Week and the I-AA.org National All-Star.

A second-year transfer from Georgia Tech, Hall has had a stellar season in leading the Fightin’ Blue Hens to a 10-1 record. He has thrown for 2,068 yards and 21 touchdowns with just six interceptions and has rushed for 595 yards and seven touchdowns.

Hall ranks 11th nationally in passing rating with a mark of 147.99 and ranks 21st in total offense with 242.1 yards per game.

Hall is a candidate for the Walter Payton Award, which is presented annually to the top offensive player in NCAA Division I-AA football.
