New book highlights Hens’ championship season

“Return to Glory” can be ordered online at [www.delawareonline.com/bookstore].
11:56 a.m., April 28, 2004--On Dec. 19, 2003, the University of Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens football team completed a remarkable season by winning the NCAA Division I-AA national championship with a 40-0 victory over Colgate University. Led by second-year Head Coach K.C. Keeler, the Hens finished the season 15-1 and set a record for most games and most victories in school history.

Memorable moments from that special season are captured for fans everywhere in “University of Delaware Blue Hens Return to Glory,” a new book now available from The News Journal.

“Return to Glory” follows this special football team from spring practice to the final ticks of the scoreboard clock in the championship game at Max Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn., where the Fightin’ Blue Hens earned their sixth national championship and the first-ever Division I-AA national title in UD history.

The book also features a foreword by legendary coach Tubby Raymond and a special thank you from Keeler to everyone who made the title run possible.

This great-looking keepsake paints a memorable picture of an outstanding football season.

The book, which costs $19.95, is available at all UD Bookstore locations and also can be ordered online at [www.delawareonline.com/bookstore]. For each book sold, $3 will be donated to the University of Delaware.
