Master Gardener workshops begin Sept. 11

3 p.m., Aug. 15, 2003--Get your garden ready for spring by signing up for one of the workshops offered by Master Gardeners of New Castle County this fall. All materials are provided, and sessions are held at UD’s Fischer Greenhouse, unless otherwise noted.

Scheduled workshops are

  • “Free Plants for All” (two sessions), 7-9 p.m., Thursdays, Sept. 11 and Oct. 9, fee $30;

  • “Design Your Dream Landscape” (three sessions), 7-9 p.m., Mondays, Sept. 15, 22 and 29, fee $55;

  • “Orchids on Your Windowsill,” 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, fee $21;

  • “Puzzled by Pruning,” 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, fee $21;

  • “Groundcovers: Nature’s Area Rugs,” 7-9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6, fee $15;

  • “Spring Dutch Bulbs,” 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8, fee $20;

  • “Shrubs Have It All,” 6:30-8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13, fee $15;

  • “Home Care for Houseplants,” 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, fee $15;

  • “Gardening With Artificial Light,” 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, fee $15;

  • “Brown Gold for Your Garden,” 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, fee $15;

    and
  • “Holiday Wreath Making,” 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, or 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, fee $30.
