Saturday’s football playoff game on cable TV

11:40 a.m., Dec. 3, 2003--Fans of UD’s Fightin’ Blue Hens will have two chances to see broadcasts of Saturday’s quarterfinal round game against the University of Northern Iowa in the NCAA Division I-AA football playoffs on Comcast cable television.

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (channel 53 in New Castle County) will broadcast the game live, beginning with the 12:05 p.m. kickoff. The game also will be rebroadcast at 10:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia (channel 35 in New Castle County).

The 12-1 Fightin’ Blue Hens advanced to the quarterfinals after a convincing 48-7 first round win over Southern Illinois University, which shared the Gateway Conference championship with Northern Iowa.

Northern Iowa is 10-2, with losses to Iowa State University and Western Kentucky University. Head coach is Mark Farley.
