Fightin' Blue Hens still No. 4 in football polls

10:44 a.m., Oct. 14, 2003--The University of Delaware football team, entering Homecoming week after a hard-fought victory over the University of New Hampshire, remains ranked No. 4 in both NCAA Division I-AA polls announced Monday.

McNeese State remains No. 1 in both the The Sports Network/CSTV poll and the USA Today/ESPN poll, followed by Western Illinois, Villanova and Delaware.

Villanova, like the Fightin’ Blue Hens a member of the powerful Atlantic 10 Football Conference, received first-place votes in both polls. UD received one first-pplace vote in The Sports Network/CSTV poll.

Rounding out the top 10 in both polls are Montana, Massachusetts, also of the Atlantic 10, Southern Illinois, Wofford, Western Kentucky and Georgia Southern. Maine, another Atlantic 10 team, is ranked No. 20 in both polls.
