Delaware field hockey team No. 15 in national rankings

10:37 a.m., Oct. 14, 2003--The University of Delaware field hockey team is ranked No. 15 in the latest STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association NCAA Division I poll announced Tuesday.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens (10-4) slipped from last week’s No. 11 ranking after losses to Colonial Athletic Association rivals Old Dominion University, which is ranked No. 7, and the College of William and Mary, which is ranked No. 16.

Wake Forest continues to hold the No. 1 ranking, followed by North Carolina, Duke, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Iowa and Northeastern.

The Hens will play at the University of Maryland, which is coached by former UD star Missy Meharg, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19.
