Delaware field hockey team No. 12 in national poll

4:05 p.m., Sept.30, 2003--The University of Delaware field hockey team has jumped to No. 12 in the latest STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association NCAA Division I poll announced Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The Fightin’ Blue Hens were ranked No. 15 last week and climbed three places after a 2-1 victory over Temple University that raised their record to 7-2. The win was UD’s fourth straight.

Old Dominion University, a fellow member of the Colonial Athletic Association, maintained its No. 7 ranking. Other unranked CAA teams that received votes in the poll were the College of William & Mary, Hofstra University and James Madison University.

Wake Forest University is ranked No. 1 in the poll, followed by North Carolina, Maryland, Duke, Michigan, Iowa, Old Dominion, Penn State, Michigan State, Princeton, Northeastern and Delaware.
