History essays sought for Craven Prize

2:23 p.m., Feb. 25, 2004--History essays are currently being sought by UD’s Department of History for the spring 2004 Thomas J. Craven Prize. The contest is open to all UD undergraduates majoring in history and includes a $600 overall prize. Essay topics are limited to American political or constitutional history, broadly interpreted, or Delaware history.

The history department also will award $300 to the winner of the Old Home Prize for the best essay on the history of Delaware and the Eastern Shore.

Essays should be submitted by Tuesday, March 23, to the history department main office, 236 Munroe Hall. The author’s name should not appear on the essay, but should be submitted in a sealed envelope turned in with the essay, with the title of the essay on the front of the envelope.

For more information, contact the history department at 831-2371.
