Math prof named to journal editorial board

Gary Ebert, professor of mathematical sciences
4:10 p.m., May 18, 2004--Gary Ebert, professor of mathematical sciences, has been named a member of the editorial board of the new Academia Press journal “Innovations in Incidence Geometry.” The international journal, founded by the research group Incidence Geometry at Ghent University, will present research papers on all aspects of incidence geometry. The first volume is scheduled for 2005.

Ebert specializes in finite geometries, constructing various geometrical structures or configurations and analyzing them. He has made invited presentations in Australia, Europe and the U.S. and has received recent grants from the National Security Agency in the field of finite geometry. He is coauthor of “Discrete Mathematics.”

Ebert received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and joined the UD faculty in 1977.
