Memorial service for Edward Alexander set Sept. 6 |
8:20 a.m., Sep. 4, 2003 --A celebration of the life of Edward Porter Alexander, professor emeritus of museum studies, who died July 31, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, in Multipurpose Room C, Trabant University Center. A reception will follow the memorial service.
An innovative pioneer, Dr. Alexander developed a course curriculum that enrolled both graduate and undergraduate students. After his retirement, he continued to guest lecture in museum studies courses and offered counsel to his successors on the content and focus of the program.
As professor emeritus of museum studies, he was awarded the University of Delaware Medal of Distinction at a special ceremony in front of the Academy Building on Oct. 20, 1984.
